Vice President Leni Robredo appealed to the public to stand behind the Constitutional offices who are now undergoing a tough test especially the Office of the Ombudsman.
Robredo made the call after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to form a commission to investigate the Office of the Ombudsman particularly the General Deputy Ombudsman Melchor Arthur Carandang who was appointed by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales to investigate alleged hidden wealth of the President and his family.
“Sa gitna ng mga kasalukuyang isyung kinakaharap ng mga Constitutional offices, kailangan muli ang tibay ng loob ng bawat Pilipino. Sama-sama tayong manindigan para sa ating Saligang Batas at mga demokratikong institusyon, kabilang ang isang walang kinikilingang Ombudsman,”Robredo said.

“Sa ating kasaysayan, ilang beses nang hinamon ang kasarinlan ng mga opisinang ito. Sa bawat pagkakataon, hinahamon din ang tibay ng loob ng sambayanang ipagtanggol ang ating mga institusyon,”She added.
According to the Vice-President, Constitutional Offices such as the Office of the Ombudsman, the Civil Service Commission (CSC), the Commission on Audit (COA), the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) the country under the Marcos dictatorship.
