In his Facebook post, Roxas said that he never met Ricky Sereño and never had dealings with drug lord Merriam Odicta and claims that this accusation is only a funny attempt on fake news.

I have been and am anti-illegal drugs and the record of arrests, confiscations and buy bust operations by the PNP during my time at DILG will show this. Clearly a poor and laughable attempt at fake news.He said
He added this information is only an attempt to get the attention of President Rodrigo Duterte who is scheduled to visit Negros over the weekend.

Roxas also bragged Filipinos from Western Visayas knows him and his family whose reputation is not tainted with involvement in illegal drugs and corruption.

Earlier, Sereño filed a sworn affidavit saying that Former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas together with Senator Franklin Drilon and Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog are the notorious drug protectors in Western Visayas backing up the illegal drug business of the Odicta family.
Sereño is a bag man of the drug syndicate led by Berya Tolentino who is a strong rival of Odicta’s group.
