Son of a former town mayor in Leyte and former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent was arrested by authorities for illegal drug-related charges.
Julius Katang Katang of Barangay San Roque Jaro, Leyte is the son of Jaro, Leyte Mayor Floro “Bom” Katang Katang was caught by the authorities possessing 350 grams of shabu.
The joint operation of the Tacloban City Police Office and PDEA-8 resulted to the arrest of Katang Katang in a buy-bust along P.Burgos Street in the said city.
Katang Katang already knew all the agents of PDEA in region 6 so they decided to ask the local police for help and made them act as the customer of the suspect.
According to TCPO Senior Superintendent Rolando Bade, Katang-Katang went on AWOL since February last year.
The shabu that confiscated to the suspect worth P2.5M in street value.
Authorities is now trying to trace the supplier of Katang Katang.
