Senator Risa Hontiveros on Saturday, August 19 visited the wake of Kian Loyd delos Santos, the 17-year-old Grade 11 student who was killed during an Oplan Galugad operation in Barangay 160, in Caloocan City last Wednesday night.
Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday morning, August 20 also visited the wake of Kian.
Robredo went to Caloocan City straight from her hometown Naga City, Camarines Sur, and arrived at Kian’s wake at around 7 am.
The vice president did not speak to the media, but was also seen inspecting the scene where Kian was shot dead by the police.
Likewise, Senator Leila de Lima said she also wanted to visit Kian’s wake, and will ask the court to allow her.
De Lima said that she will seek approval from the court on Monday to allow her a 3-hour temporary freedom.
“If Sen (Bong) Revilla was allowed by the court to visit his dentist several times, I should also be allowed to visit the wake of Kian (Delos Santos).”In her staff text messages
It can be recalled that Sen De Lima was arrested last February and now jailed at PNP Detention Center in Camp Crame for her alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
Nevertheless, the jailed senator was a former CHR chairperson and later the DOJ secretary during the Noynoy Aquino administration.
