Oldest Traditional Artist Whang-Od Reveals Her Naughty Side, By Grabbing A Different Kind Of ‘Tool’

Apo Whang-Od Oggay is a Filipina tattoo artist who was born on February 17, 1917. She is the oldest traditional tattoo artist from Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga. She is considered as the last mambabatok   (traditional Kalinga tattooist) from the Butbut people in Buscalan Kalinga.
Tourists travel an hour of treacherous tracks to reach the legendary tattoo artist. They prefer to surpass the obstacles just to meet her and get a taste of how it’s like to be tattooed using the traditional way.
Whang-Od has been tattooing headhunters and women of the indigenous people of Butbut in Buscalan Kalinga for more than 80 years but the Butbut warriors who used to earn villages or killing enemies no longer exist. Instead, Whang-od now applies the traditional art form to tourists visiting Buscalan.
The tattoo artist, earlier this month has reportedly gotten sick but later started to gain her strength back. As a proof, she was able to goof around with some of her customers; revealing her naughty side.
Here are some of the photos shared on Facebook where Whang-od was seen grabbing a different kind of tool, not intended to offend anybody, but to only show the playful side of Apo Whang-Od where people also enjoy her being cool and funny.
