MANILA – The head of the Pag-IBIG Fund on Wednesday touted the agency's ongoing programs and milestones benefiting the members.
"Since Pag-IBIG is the Fund of Filipino workers, who are the owners of the Fund, we are committed to doing everything we can to create programs that our members can truly benefit from," Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said in a Kapihan at the Manila Hotel.
"Along with the rest of Lingkod Pag-IBIG, we serve our members with professionalism, integrity, excellence, and a deep commitment to service," she added.
Acosta was joined by former senator Joey Lina at the briefing to discuss the agency's efforts to make homeownership more attainable for Filipino workers.
Lina authored the Senate version of the bill that became Republic Act 7742, which reinstated mandatory Pag-IBIG Fund membership in 1995 after it had been voluntary since 1987.
The move reinforced the Fund's sustainability and broadened its reach to more workers.
It implemented a 3 percent subsidized interest rate under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program, reducing monthly amortizations and making home loans more affordable, especially for minimum and low-wage earners.
The Acquired Assets Super Sale offers discounts of up to 40 percent until December and options for current occupants to settle concerns and become legitimate homeowners.
Moreover, it had its highest January-to-June performance with PHP1.14 trillion in total assets and PHP33.32 billion in net income for the first half of 2025. (PNA)
