ILOILO CITY – Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas believed Secretary Vince Dizon can deliver with his appointment as head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In a media interview on Monday, Treñas said she supports the decision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in appointing Dizon to the position because he is very hardworking and acts fast.

During his stint at the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the mayor said Dizon always looked into their concerns and made sure they were being responded to immediately.

"Even in our airport here, he already has timelines and targets to make sure services are faster. During the time of the Covid-19, Secretary Vince was also very effective. I believe he can deliver more in the DPWH," she said.

The city mayor is also leaving it to Dizon to take any actions on the district engineer of the Iloilo City District Engineering Office.

The city government has coordination issues with District Engineer Roy Pacanan on project implementation.

Dizon replaced Manuel Bonoan, who resigned amid alleged irregularities in flood control projects. He took his oath of office before President Marcos on Monday. (PNA)
