MANILA – Vienna (Austria) pulled off a 22-20 victory over Skyliners (Germany) Sunday night to win the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen in Hungary.
Quincy Diggs bagged the MVP honors, scoring eight points for Vienna, which defeated Amsterdam RABOBANK, 21-16, in the semifinals.
The Skyliners, on the other hand, prevailed over Valencia (Spain), 21-20 in overtime, to reach their first World Tour final this season.
Led by Niklas Kropp and Stefan Kojic, the Skyliners took a 9-5 lead before Vienna rallied to grab the upper hand at 10-9 at the halfway mark of the game.
Both teams traded baskets, with Kojic's free throw tying the score at 20-all. Enis Murati's basket sealed the victory for Vienna.
Meanwhile, Nico Kaltenbrunner won the Wilson Shoot-Out Contest while Jeremiah Walker topped the Dunk Contest.
The final standings: Vienna (Austria), Skyliners (Germany), Valencia (Spain), Amsterdam RABOBANK (Netherlands), Lausanne (Switzerland), Liman (Serbia), Marbella (Spain), Raudondvaris Hoptrans (Lithuania), Partizan (Serbia), Debrecen (Hungary), London (USA), Seef (Bahrain), Bologna Campas (Italy), Warsaw Lotto (Poland), Rome (Italy) and Constanta CSU Neptun (Romania).
The next stop of the World tour will be in Shanghai, China from Sept. 27 to 28. (PNA)
