‘First and only lady’: PBBM greets FL Liza on her birthday

MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paid tribute to First Lady Louise "Liza" Araneta-Marcos on her birthday, describing her as a steadfast partner, loving mother, and tireless First Lady.

In a social media post early Thursday, the President called Liza his "first and only lady," recalling her role not only in their family but also in public service.

"Happy birthday to my first and only lady, Liza. You have been my partner through everything—a loving mother to our boys, a brilliant lawyer and teacher, and now a tireless First Lady who gives so much of herself to others," Marcos said.

"Thank you for all that you do and all that you are. We love you very much," he added.

A lawyer and longtime law professor, the First Lady has been actively involved in socio-civic work, lending support to programs on women's and children's welfare, legal aid, and community outreach.

She has also taken a leading role in "Lab for All," a flagship initiative that brings free medical consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines to communities across the country, in partnership with the Department of Health and local government units.

Beyond her advocacies, Mrs. Marcos continues to juggle her profession as an academic with her responsibilities as First Lady, often accompanying the President in official engagements at home and abroad.

Earlier this week, the First Lady shared on her social media that she would go on a birthday sabbatical. (PNA)
