Earthquake kills 250 in E. Afghanistan

KABUL – A powerful earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province Sunday night local time, killing at least 250 people and injuring 500 across multiple districts, state-owned Bakhtar News Agency reported on Monday.

The earthquake struck 17 miles from the city of Jalalabad near the border with Pakistan around midnight local time, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. (Xinhua)
