WATCH!Jose Maria Sison may panawagan sa CHR:” iimbistigahan ang nangyaring pagpatay ng mga NPA sa Batangas

Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria “Joma” Sison urged the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to investigate the killings of 14 communist rebels in Nasugbu, Batangas who died during an encounter with government forces yesterday night.

In an interview with ANC, Sison said that he is dubious of the report that soldiers killed rebel group members in Batangas and emphasized that the CHR should interfere with the investigation.

“You cannot trust the claims of false news of the psywar officers of Duterte’s army, the same you cannot trust the false news of his troll army,” Sison said.

“Human rights organizations should be able to go there and investigate whether there has been a real fight between the New People’s Army and the reactionary army,” he added.

Sison warned on the numerous killing reports in the country who are often quick to label as members of the rebel groups.

“There are quick accusations the victims are NPA rebels but in fact they are civilians. We have the ring of falsity and lies coming from the Duterte regime. We should be careful and try to investigate the veracity of all these reports,” he said.

Yesterday, military and police said that 5 NPA guerrillas were killed in Sitio Pinamuntasan, Barangay Aga while 9 other rebel member were slain in Sitio Batulao, Barangay Kaylaway in Nasugbu, Batangas.

They also reported that at least 5 from the government forces were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to 202nd Infantry Brigade commander Brigadier General Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr., they also recovered 12 high-powered firearms at the encounter site.

The consecutive encounter between government forces and rebel groups prompted after President Rodrigo Duterte dismissed the peace talks with communist movements and threatened to tag them as terrorists.

Sison, on the other hand, tagged Duterte as a “swindler” and revealed that the National Democratic Front (NPA) is already “sick and tired” of the President’s move to terminate peace negotiations for about 3 times in a row within 6 months.
