A certain guy named Lee De Paauw was dared to jump into a deadly crocodile-infested water just to impress her British backpacker crush, Sophie Paterson, a tourist from Britain.
Lee, who foolhardily flung himself towards the crocs said: “She didn’t even know I had been attacked at first. She thought I was pulling her leg until I hopped out of the water with my arm hanging down.”
According to him, her crush had said he would go on a date following his ordeal. So, Lee jumped into the river and caught him in its powerful jaws and dragged him about six metres.
Lee punched the croc in the snout, but just before it could perform the death roll, he gouged the crocs in the eye. The split-second decision probably saved his life, because the croc let go.
Lee was feared to be at risk of losing his arm but despite two broken bones, surgeons save it.
Although Lee won a date with his crush, her comments may not help his street cred all that much.
“I’ve never heard a guy scream like that,” Sophie said of witnessing the attack.
“You know, he was obviously terrified and he was obviously in agony. You know, it was just sheer panic.”
A Department of Environment and Heritage Protection spokesman confirmed the crocodile was being targeted for capture and removal.
