Donnie ‘Ahas’ Nietes Wins IBF World Flyweight Championship Against Thailand’s Komgrich Nantapech

Donnie Liboon ‘Ahas’ Nietes is a Filipino professional boxer. He is the current IBF Flyweight Champion. He is also a former WBO and the Ring magazine Light Flyweight Champion and a former WBO Minimumweight Champion.
On Saturday, Donnie defeated Thailand’s Komgrich Nantapech to become the new IBF world flyweight championship at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Donnie became only the third Filipino fighter to win championships in three different weight divisions, joining Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire.
It was not an easy win for Donnie, however, as he was pushed to the limit by the Thai fighter especially in the middle rounds.
Nevertheless, all three judges scored the fight in his favor, 115-113, 117-111, 117-111, for a unanimous decision victory.
