Watch: Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez Gives P100K To Centenarian

Mayor Richard Gomez personally handed P100k to a woman who is already 102 years old and is the very first centenarian awardee of Ormoc City.

“The first centenarian in Ormoc City to receive their benefit of 100 thousand pesos. This is the Centenarian Act signed by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte a few months ago,” Gomez wrote on his Instagram page.

Republic Act No. 10868 or the “Centenarians Act of 2016” under this law all Filipinos who have reached the age of 100, whether residing in the country or abroad will be granted a Centenarian gift of P100,000 cash and a Letter of Feliciation signed by the President. The fund will be taken from the DSWD. Centenarians can also have plaque of recognition and cash incentive by their respective city or municipal governments.
