Trillanes says he’s negative for drug use, twits Duterte son

MANILA – Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday said he has tested negative for any kind of illegal drug use. He also challenged the son of President Rodrigo Duterte to reveal the name of a senator who allegedly uses cocaine.
“As expected, negative ang resulta sa lahat ng forms of illegal drugs from cocaine to shabu, ecstasy, kung ano man, negative,” Trillanes said.

Trillanes, a known critic of the President, also challenged Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte to name the senator he alleged is using cocaine.
The younger Duterte made this claim after he was accused by self-confessed hitman Edgar Matobato of ordering the killings of some of his enemies.

“Siya naman ang nag-blind item na may senador na nagco-cocaine. Dapat i-pressure siya na sabihin kung sino yan” Trillanes said.

Matobato, an alleged hitman of the Davao Death Squad (DDS), earlier told a Senate committee inquiry that the Davao City Vice Mayor ordered the assassination of billionaire Richard King in 2014, due to an argument over a woman.
He also said Duterte is a drug user and even masterminded several vigilante killings, accusations that the presidential son has denied.

Trillanes said he believes Matobato’s testimony unless proven otherwise.
“I maintained na ganun nga, unless may drug test na credible na magpapatunay na hindi,” he said.
“Negative ang resulta sa akin, kung sino man tinutukoy ni Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, hindi ako yun.”
