Trillanes Questions Duterte’s common-law wife Honeylet Avancena for New York Trip, “Who Paid for Her Travel Expenses?”

Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, President Rodrigo Duterte’s common-law wife, recently went to the New York to attend an event hosted by United States First Lady Melania Trump.

And because the said US trip is not considered as official, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV could not help but ask as to whether it was paid by Honeylet herself or taxpayers’ money.

Sen. Trillanes told reporters this Friday,

September 22 when asked for his reaction about Honeylet’s US trip.

The soldier turned politician added. Sen. Trillanes was referring to President Duterte’s accusations that he allegedly owned several offshore bank accounts.

Honeylet Avanceña was spotted last Tuesday night n New York City while watching the hit Broadway musical “Miss Saigon.” That time, she was seen surrounded by supposed government security escorts.

In an ambush interview, she confirmed the invitation from Mrs. Trump, and that the said trip was related to her charity works. However, Foreign Affairs spokesperson Robespierre Bolivar clarified that Avanceña was not part of the official Philippine delegation to the UN General Assembly.

Nevertheless, Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said he is assuming that Honeylet paid for her US trip, and that her personal income as a businesswoman makes her capable of paying her own travel expenses.
