Dogs are commonly referred to as “man’s best friend”. The friendship of a dog is precious. It becomes even more so when one is so far removed from home. As we love our pets, these dogs develop an unbreakable bond with us too.
Unfortunately, there are dogs that are abandoned in the streets as feeding them is quite expensive. But there are still people who are willing to adopt pets from shelters.
This man adopted a golden retriever from a shelter. He brought the dog home right away. However, as night falls, this newly adopted dog would act strangely. The dog would watch the new owner go to sleep every night, which spooked the Chinese man as time went by.
The new owner tried everything to make his new adopted dog sleep first, but he wouldn’t budge. The man played the dog with him entirely to be exhausted, but the dog would watch his owner until the latter dozes off.
The man, being confused and spooked by the dog’s behavior, he brought the dog back to the shelter and asked why he was acting that way.
Here’s the reason why. Truly a heartbreaking. Apparently, the dog was sleeping when his previous owner took him and brought him to shelter. When the dog woke up, he realized he was in an unfamiliar place, inside a cage, and with his master nowhere to be found.
According to the staff, the previous owner could no longer afford to feed him, and decided that bringing him to the shelter would be the best option for the both of them. The dog was probably heartbroken and didn’t want to experience the same thing over again.
That is why the newly adopted dog waits until his new owner slept just to make sure he will not be sent away in the middle of the night.
