A mattress is a large pad for supporting the reclining body used as a bed or as a part of a bed. We use it everyday but people overlooked the importance of cleaning it.
A mattress can be difficult to clean since it is very bulky and huge. If not cleaned, the mattress can be a home for fungal spores, bacteria, dust mites and unpleasant odor circulating around the room.
Our mattress should be maintained clean, fresh, sanitized and in good condition:
1. Vacuum
It’s important to vacuum the mattress as it removes the dusts and dead skin cells on it but make sure to clean your vacuum tools first before using it, to avoid transferring dirt to your mattress.
2. Deodorize Your Mattress.
Deodorize your
mattress since we sleep on it every day, our sweat and perspiration is absorbed by it. Sift a baking soda on your mattress and let it stay for 30 minutes then vacuum it afterwards.

3. Use Wet Cool Cloth to Remove Light or Small Stains
By mixing salt, baking soda and water, a fresh stain can be removed easily. Just make a paste of equal parts and rub it on the stained area then brush it off after 30 minutes then use cool wet towel on it.
If it didn’t work, you can try hydrogen peroxide and soap then put it on the stained area of the bed. Brush it on and leave it for five minutes then use a wet cool towel to remove excess moisture.
Let the mattress dry after doing all these techniques to avoid molds from building up your mattress. Don’t sleep on the mattress until it is completely dry, use an electric fan to dry it if needed.
