Davao City mayor and presidential daughter Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio had given birth to a healthy baby boy through ceasarian section on Thursday, according to a photo posted on Instagram by her lawyer husband, Mans Carpio.
City Information Office Jefry Tupas said the baby who was named Stonefish weighs 2.42 kilograms or 5.3 pounds was delivered around 12:56 p.m.
Stonefish is the couple’s third child. They have two other children named Sharky and Stingray.
The Davao mayor was pregnant with triplets and was taking a three-week leave of absence but a few weeks later, Inday Sara announced that she had lost two of the babies.
“Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life,” Carpio said.
“Mayor Inday Sara is stable and generally fine,” he added.
