Small Cave Where The Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) Bandits In Bohol Hid

Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) is a Jihadist terror group based in and around Jolo and Basilan islands where for more than four decades, Moro groups have been engaged in an insurgency for an independent province in the country. The group is considered violent, and was responsible for the Philippines’ worst terrorist attack, the bombing of Superferry 14 in 2004, which killed 116 people.
Recently, the Abu Sayyaf leader was killed in a clash with government troops in Bohol. Allegedly, the ASG bandits in Bohol hid in this small cave. This cave was found in Sitio Lagsing, Barangay Bacani in the boundaries of Clarin and Inabanga.

Outside the cave were bottles of softdrinks, sacks and slippers.
The remains of Joselito Melloria, a sub-leader of Abu Sayyaf was found. According to Military Cental Command chief Lieutenant General Oscar Lactao, Melloria was killed before he arrived in Inabanga where Abu Sayyaf bandits and government troops clashed recently.
