Sen. Francis Pangilinan has raised the white flag on stopping the burial of the late President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani due to the dogged determination of the Marcos family and full backing of President Rodrigo Duterte.
But the Liberal Party president said the battle to have his carcass ejected from the heroes’ cemetery has already began.
“They may have won this battle but the war is far from over.If he is buried today we will work tirelessly to undo this monumental injustice inflicted upon the tens of thousands of victims and upon the nation,” he added.
The body of Marcos was airlifted from Batac City at 9 a.m. Friday morning and was expected to arrive at Libingan before noon.

Contrary to the Supreme Court’s claim that it’s 9-5 decision upholding Duterte’s order for a hero’s burial for Marcos would lead to a healing of the nation, Pangilinan said the High Court has only opened the wounds of the human rights abuses and plunder Marcos and his family committed in the dictator’s 21-year reign.
